Car sharing business boosted on Amsterdam growth

The supply of shared cars has increased by 28 percent to 14,352 shared cars for private individuals this past spring, when compared to last year. The growth mainly affected the four major cities. Amsterdam has the most shared vehicles with more than 2,900. This is according to knowledge platform Crow-KpVV, NU reports. Car sharing is very good for the environment as it leads to a drop in CO2 emissions, according to the Planning Bureau for Environment. The more people share cars, the fewer cars are necessary and this reduces the burden on the environment. The larges supply of car sharing is in the hands of SnappCar, an online community for renting or leasing individuals' cars. SnappCar accounts for 57 percent of the offering.
