Human trafficking arrest in Amsterdam frees Egyptian man

An Egyptian man was freed when the investigative department of the Social Affairs Inspectorate arrested two suspects in Amsterdam on suspicion of human trafficking and smuggling. One of the suspects is suspected of exploiting an undocumented migrant for a number of years by making him work at his snack bar virtually unpaid. The other suspect is suspected of human trafficking and housing the undocumented migrant. The other man is suspected of human trafficking as a raid on both the house and the bar led to the seizure of large amounts of cash and the Egyptian captive. The arrests were made under the guidance of the Public Prosecutor's National Office. One home and a snack bar were searched. The suspects remain in police custody.
