Ajax draws Celtic, AZ takes Bilbao in Europa League

Ajax will be facing off against Scotland's Celtic, Turkey's Fenerbahçe and Norway's Molde FK in the group stage of the Europa League. AZ will come up against Spain's Athletic Bilbao, Germany's FC Augsburg and Serbia's Partizan Belgrado. This was revealed in the draw on Friday, NU reports. Ajax has previously played against Celtic in the group stage of the Champions League in 2013-2014. The Amsterdammers won 1-0 at home and lost 2-1 in Glagow. Celtic won the title in Scotland last season. The last time Ajax played against Fenerbahçe at a European level was in 1968-1969. Fenerbahçe finished second in the Turkish league. Molde is still uncharted territory for Ajax. The team was last year's champion, but is in 7th place this year after 20 matches. AZ has never faced of against any of the three teams it has been linked with. Athletic Club was seventh in the Spanis Primera Liga last season. Augsburg is number five in the Bundesliga. and Partizan Belgrado was champion in Serbia last year.
