Police continue Find my Phone app campaign with Sail Amsterdam

The Amsterdam police's Find my phone app campaign against pickpockets, which was first launched during Amsterdam Gay Pride a few weeks ago, will also be in effect during Sail Amsterdam. The organizers of the Sail event expects around 400 thousand visitors to the event each day. Such busy events are ideal hunting grounds for pickpockets, as the crowds make it easy to steal a phone or wallet and then disappear without being noticed. The police are therefore encouraging all Sail visitors to install a "find my phone app" on their smartphones. A number of police officers will be ready to track any stolen phones using those apps.
