Tall ships to depart Amsterdam in annual Sail-Out parade

The final day of the SAIL event in Amsterdam features the traditional Sail-Out, as historic tall ships leave the city. SAIL organizers said the event has drawn thousands of visitors this year.

The SAIL-Out parade begins at 14:00, when the tall ships depart the IJ Harbor over the Noordzeekanaal and continue through the locks of IJmuiden toward the North Sea.

Earlier in the day, the ships complete a final ceremonial round on the Amsterdamse IJ, known as the Admiraalzeilen. Event organizers are providing ongoing updates throughout the day.

Weather across the Netherlands will see a mix of sun and clouds, with a few morning showers in the northeastern regions. Temperatures will range from 19 degrees in the north to 21 degrees in the south, with winds from the north gradually shifting southward in the coming days, bringing warmer air.
