Complaint filed against Transavia for bumpy landing

A number of passengers that were on the Transavia flight HV5068 from Girona, Spain to Rotterdam on Saturday, are filing a complaint against the airline for the turbulent landing and poor reception and information provision afterwards, AD reports. The flight had a number of issues in landing due to the stormy weather in the Netherlands on Saturday. The flight was initially supposed to land in Rotterdam, but was then redirected to Schiphol, where it also experienced difficulties. "When we started to descend it began to rain. There was heavy turbulence. In Rotterdam I could see the runway, but then we went back up", one passenger, 17 year old Yael Zoutendijk from Wassenaar, told NOS after the flight, adding that during the landing at Schiphol, the plane dropped suddenly three times. "That gave the feeling of a roller coaster. Everything was shaking, everyone was in a bit of a panic." A number of passengers can't understand why Transavia decided to go through with the flight after a weather warning was issued in the Netherlands. They also complained about the poor reception and information services after the flight finally landed. "After a bizarre flight and emergency landing safely at Schiphol. Hours waiting for luggage and no information and food/drink", one passenger Karin van Berkel wrote on Twitter. Transavia emphasized that safety was never at risk, according to AD. The plane diverted to Schiphol after a failed landing. The airline did admit that the after landing reception was poorly handled and therefore called the 170 passengers on Sunday to apologize. "We have heard from the media that passengers complained about an unpleasant experience and have not had a pleasant flight", a spokesperson for the airline said. "Saturday had extraordinary weather and due to the crowds at Schiphol we were unable to properly receive the passengers."
