Dijsselbloem: Talk of Greece deal "completely untrue"

Greek Finance mInister Yanis Varoufakis' statements that an agreement between Greece and the other euro countries is in the offing, is "completely untrue", according to to Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem, NU reports. Earlier on Friday Varoufakis said to Irish radio station RTE Radio that a solution was close and that this solution can be achieved whatever the outcome of the referendum. "I can assure you that very decent proposals from Europe were received this week and that a deal is almost complete", the Greek minister said. "That is completely sucked out of his thumb. No new proposals have gone to Athens", Dijsselbloem said on Friday after the cabinet meeting, NU reports. "And we're not close to a solution", he added. There will be no further discussions with the Greek government until after Sunday's referendum. On Sunday Greece will be voting on the aid package that was put on the table last week. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has advised the people of his country to vote "no". In the Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament, on Thursday, Dijsselbloem said that a "no" vote would make it very questionable whether Greece can remain in the eurozone.
