Hague man arrested for raping elderly woman

The police arrested a 44 year old man from The Hague on Thursday. He is suspected of repeatedly raping an 85 year old woman in her home on Isabellaland in The Hague. The woman had opened her bedroom window around 05:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning because of the heat. A short time later there was a strange man in her bedroom. The man trapped the woman in her home and raped her several times. The woman managed to escape around 09:00 a.m. and call for help. The police received the report of this crime around 09:45. When the police got the the woman's house, the man had fled. A large scale investigation was immediately launched, including a forensic investigation for trace evidence in the woman's home. During the forensic investigation, the police secured a finger print, which led to the man's identity. The man was located and arrested on Thursday. He is in custody for questioning. The man will be arraigned before a magistrate on Friday.
