Prominent young football player killed in car crash

Football club VVV-Venlo is mourning the death of one of its youth players. Beau Vilters was killed in a traffic accident on the A73 on Sunday. The 18 year old defender from Roermond was thrown from his car when he crashed into the guardrail, the Telegraaf reports. An air ambulance responded to the scene. Rescue workers tried to resuscitate the young football player, but their efforts were in vain. Last season Vilters played for the VVV's A1. He was planned to play in the selection of coach Maurice Steijn in the preparations for the new football year.
