OECD raises Dutch growth expectations
The OECD improved its forecast for the growth of the Dutch economy. The Netherlands is now expected to grow by two percent in 2015, and 2.2 percent the following year. Previously, the organization estimated the growth of 1.4 and 1.6 percent respectively.
OECD predicts that the Dutch economy will grow 0.6 percent faster than the Eurozone average. The growth pace in the Netherlands is comparable to that in the US.
"The Netherlands is again at the forefront when it comes to economic growth, and the expectations are now more positive than before," Economics Minister Henk Kamp commented on the figures.
These estimates come from the Economic Outlook, a biannual analysis of future performance of OECD countries. The Dutch Central Planning Bureau (CPB) is less optimistic in its forecasts. It expects the country's economy to grow by 1.7 percent this year.
ABN Amro also raised its growth estimates yesterday to 2.1 percent. ING and Rabobank expect the growth of 2 percent, similarly to the OECD.
