Midday thunderstorms, afternoon winds in latest weather alert

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute has issued a code yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and strong winds for the entire country on Wednesday afternoon. Starting around noon, showers and thunderstorms will be drawing across the Netherlands from west to east. These may be accompanied by strong winds and hail. The code yellow weather warning will be in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m. For the coastal provinces there is an additional code yellow warning for strong winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour that will remain in effect until midnight.
