No policy change after wild bachelor party attacks six cops

The fight that broke out in Renesse between a German group celebrating a bachelor's party and the police who tried to bring them under control over the weekend, was nothing more than an incident, according to Mayor Gerard Rabelink of Schouwen-Duveland. He sees no reason to consider changing the policy in Renesse. "You should always check whether the policy is good, but I assume that most people come here to have a good time. We will have a good look at what happened, but it's not that we have this type of incident every week." Rabelink told Omroep Zeeland. "I do not condone it. I want to state clearly that steps have been taken in Renesse in recent years. Good arrangements have been made and things can always go wrong once." According to an eyewitness, the brawl was initiated by one of the German party-goers hitting a police officer. The police arrested the offender and then things got out of hand when a group of the party goers tried to free their friend, eyewitness Roy Lansen told Omroep Zeeland.
