Dutch investigators find more MH17 victims’ remains
A Dutch investigation team on Tuesday and Wednesday salvaged more victims' remains and personal belongings from the MH17 crash site in Grabovo, eastern Ukraine, the Dutch government stated in a press release. The team of defense and police personnel returned to the site last week to continue their repatriation mission.
The remains will arrive at Eindhoven Air Base on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the same kind of ceremony given to previous arrivals.
For the first time ever, the security situation allowed the team to visit the northwest area of Petropavlovka. The village's mayor let the researchers collect the most recent remains and pieces of wreckage and store them temporarily in Kharkov. The research team's work capacity is always dependant on security and weather conditions in Ukraine.
Dutch researchers have consulted authorities in Kharkov and the villages within the crash radius. The team is working in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Ukrainian Agency for Disaster Relief (SES) in Donetsk.
