Criminal kingpin's girlfriend shot dead in Amstelveen

The girlfriend of a criminal who plays a major role in the Amsterdam underworld was shot and killed in Amstelveen yesterday morning. H. is a suspected ringleader of the organization around the late Gwenette Martha. He has been in hiding for a while for fear of an attempt on his life. The police can not confirm the identity of the victim, but did confirm that the execution is probably linked to the ongoing feud in the underworld. The victim was shot several times at around 08:30 a.m. on Beeckestijn in Amstelveen. Attempts to resuscitate her failed. A burning car was found on the corner of Haya van Somerenstraat and Joke Smitlaan shortly after the murder. The fire spread to two other cars. In 2013 H. was mentioned in a tip to the Criminal Intelligence Unit, in which someone explained in detail that H. and two others were planning to carry out an execution. The two others were Martha's cousin and Noufal "Noffel" F., who is viewed by investigative agencies as one of the shooters in the shooting incident in the Staatsliedenbuurt. The car which was to be used in the planned execution was bugged by investigators. The occupants were arrested by a team of police officers at Arnhem. A bag full weapons were found on the back seat. H. previously escaped an execution by jumping in the water in Amsterdam-Zuid. He has long been associated with the group around Martha. Martha was executed in Amstelveen in May.
