MH17 cockpit salvaged
A part of the cockpit was part of the MH17 wreckage that was salvaged yesterday. Yesterday was the fifth day in a row that wreckage was salvaged from the disaster area in eastern Ukraine.
The salvage team expects to be busy for at least another few days. According to the safety board, the salvage team worked on schedule yesterday. There was good cooperation with the local Ukrainian services.
The wreckage salvaged on the crash site is loaded into railroad cars and transferred to the city of Kharkov. From there they will eventually be sent to the Netherlands, The research council will examine the pieces and reconstruct a portion of the aircraft.
The salvaging mission started on Sunday. More human remains and personal belongings have been found in the course of the salvaging.
