Train hijackers' families sue Dutch on excessive force claim

The relatives of the Moluccas train hijackers in De Punt are holding the Dutch State liable for material and immaterial damages. The liability statement will be sent to the Ministry of Security and Justice this afternoon. The liability statement talks about murder in the train and the use of excessive force in the rescue. The relatives demand restitution, reparation and financial compensation. Eight people died in the termination of the hijacking on June 11th, 1977 - six hijackers and two hostages - and a number of people were wounded. Nine South Moluccas held 51 train passengers hostage for twenty days.
