Defence goes public with toxic paint documents

On Thursday the Ministry of Defense released over 500 documents relating to the issues surrounding chrome paint. The use of coating and paint with the carcinogenic chromium 6 has caused illness in hundreds of Defense employees and former employees. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is investigating the problems. Defense ultimately wants to publish all the documents related to this matter on the internet. In their own words they want to be "as transparent as possible and support the investigation". Meetings were held in Kerkade and Almelo on Wednesday and Thursday for employees and former employees of Defense to discuss the issues. About 400 people attended. The RIVM's investigation will take months.
