Air France pilots now back Transavia expansion plan

Air France pilots will back a planned expansion of Transavia after ongoing talks between Air France and union representation. Parent company Air France-KLM announced Thursday they will begin expansion of Transavia beginning next summer with up to 14 Boeing 737 airplanes, according to Z24

An agreement was reached between Air France and the SNPL Union once the parent company agreed that pilots shifted to Transavia from Air France would maintain seniority and status with Air France under terms of a separate, second contact. The pilots, who staged a prolonged strike last month feared that the expansion of Transavia would lead to a loss of contractual privileges, and substantial cuts in salary.

Air France has agreed that all future changes to employment conditions will be submitted to unions for consideration.
