MIssing man from Gent found dead in Zeeland canal

Police suspect that the body of a man that was found in the Van Gent naar Terneuzen canal near Sluiskil in Zeeland, is linked to a crime. Authorities say the man’s body was spotted by a passerby in the canal around 4.30pm. It is not clear when he died, but according to police everything hints at a crime. A diving team helped to fish him out of the water, as police cordoned off the area to look for evidence. They say the man is probably someone from Gent in Belgium, who was reported missing on Saturday. The investigation will be carried out by authorities in Gent.
