Prices for existing houses in July were 1.9 percent higher than July 2013. For four consecutive months the prices of homes were higher than in the same months last year. Today the price for an existing house is on average about the same as they were in May 2003, but 3.1 percent higher than in June 2013. On Monday the Land Registry announced that 13,833 sold houses were registered in July. That is a 43.7 percent increase compared to July 2013. In the first seven months of 2014 a massive 76,920 homes changed ownership, a 40 percent increase compared to last year.
