Baby's death still a mystery

Authorities have not yet been able to determine what caused the death of a baby found in a bag in March. The body of the newborn was found on Mar 11, 2014 by a passerby, stuffed in a bag lying in an alleyway behind a building in Eindhoven. Police later on arrested two people, a man and a woman. But at the hearing today of the court case, it turned out that the Netherlands Forensic Institute has not been able to find out what killed the child. The attorney for the mother as well as the Prosecutor requested a deeper investigation. The judge in Den Bosch has referred the case to the investigating magistrate. The baby’s mother has been released since May. It is not clear when the case will be heard again.
