Warm welcome for Oranje back in NL

The Dutch national team landed in Rotterdam The Hague Airport just before 5 p.m. Sunday evening. They were met by several hundreds of Oranje fans cheering them back into the country, thanking them for a great World Cup. After wining third place in the championships, with Oranje beating host team Brazil 3-0, which more than 6.4 million viewers watched, the team can now enjoy a well-deserved holiday. First stop, however, was Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk where the team arrived on a bus escorted by police motorcycles. Fans were with them at the airport and at the hotel, all very proud of their country representatives taking the Dutch team as far as it went. Daryl Janmaat told TV Rijnmond that this was a nice moment to experience this. "I am very tired, we have been gone for 2.5 months. But this is fantastic, so many people." At the hotel, the players were received by more than 2000 adoring fans, who welcomed them with applause. Coach Louis van Gaal took a moment to clap for the fans as well, the team following suit. Most players have three weeks of holiday now, but some have obligations like Van Gaal who will leave for Old Trafford on Wednesday, to his new club Manchester United. Feyenoord players will also be back to work on the 23rd of July for the Champions League qualifiers. Bruno Martins Indi will be going over to FC Porto. The Hotel Huis ter Duin is where the players, who have spent the last few months together in close quarters and tense atmosphere, officially parted ways. After seeing the fans, the players were met by family, friends and hotel guests. The players were then able to escape to a separate area to be able to have some private time with their loved ones. https://twitter.com/mediatvnl/statuses/488336285925670912 https://twitter.com/Mennoo1997/status/488410426582253568
