No Tel Aviv overnight for KLM crew
KLM crew flying to Tel Aviv no longer overnight in the city, a company spokesperson has announced.
The decision follows warnings by Islamist Hamas' armed wing that it intends to target Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport with its rockets from Gaza. KLM said its crew spends its nights in Larnaca in Cyprus. The airline will meanwhile continue its flights to Ben Gurion airport though. The spokesperson said that would change if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a negative travel advisory against Tel Aviv. Passengers have been asked to monitor the KLM website for any changes in the flight schedules. Hamas claimed earlier that it had already fired at least one rocket towards the airport Friday but none are known to have landed in or around Ben Gurion which is Israel's main international aerial gateway and is well protected by missile interceptor systems.
