Man dies in police escape attempt
Two suspects jumped out of a second-storey flat in Utrecht on Monday in an attempt to escape the police. For one of the men, the jump was fatal, the NOS reports.
Police received a tip that there may be a marijuana farm inside the home on the Fazendadreef. Nobody came to open the door, but police heard noises coming from the back of the house.
This is where they discovered one of the men lying on the ground below the second-floor window of the flat. He was in a bad state, and reanimation attempts did not work. The man died on the spot.
The other suspect was injured, and brought to hospital. It is still unclear whether the men lived in the flat. The police later searched the flat and discovered there was indeed a marijuana farm inside.
