Gorilla twins celebrate 1st birthday

Gorilla twins N'Kato and N'Hasa, born a year ago in Burgers Zoo will be celebrating their first birthday tomorrow.

The Arnhem Zoo thus achieves a big feat as it has never happened before that a mother gorilla who gave birth to twins in zoo in Europe was able to keep both her children alive past a couple of months. So far this has happened only in a zoo in Atlanta in the US. The birth of the twins already was already an achievement. Gorilla mom N'Gayla made headlines with her two newborn children last year. Veterinarians did not know the 20-year-old mom had been carrying twins. The zoo is giving N'Gayla and her toddlers a surprise veggie cake to celebrate the birthday.
