Caravan park fire kills one

A fire at a garden house complex in Mijdrecht left one person dead Wednesday morning. The fire started at about 6 a.m. in the Kromme Mijdrecht garden chalet, and firefighters needed nearly 90 minutes to put out the flames. The body was discovered by the fire department crew as they worked to prevent embers from reigniting a blaze. Three other properties were damaged, though no other injuries were reported, according to newspaper De Telegraaf. The blaze required extra firefighters at the scene, with two teams battling the fire, and two other teams transporting additional water to put out the flames.
