Benefit for missing women in Panama raises €20k

A benefit for the Find Kris and Lisanne foundation (Vind Kris en Lisanne) raised around €20,000 on Tuesday night. An auction accounted for more than €7600 of that amount. The benefit was held in Amersfoort by Rolf and Margriet van As, with whom Kris and Lisanne worked for three years in the hotel and restaurant business in Amersfoort. Rolf took it upon himself to raise money for the foundation, a burden he said should not be loaded onto the parents. The owner of the hotel and restaurant businesses where the lost girls worked was at a gathering with Koninklijk Horeca Nederland. Together with representatives of the unions FNV and CNV he took a new step in the preparations for the first large-scale national money-raising action. Personnel are being asked to donate funds on the 14th of June. The employer will double this amount. Van As will not yet speculate about the expected number of participants. He wants to make a lot of publicity for the event in the coming days. The benefit on Tuesday was attended by a lot of people. A concert in the Joriskerk was recorded, and DVD's of the recording can be ordered. The auction will be put online as well. The girls have been missing since April, various search actions from the police, a special task force as well as search dogs have found no trace of them yet.
