In balcony leap, man escapes bike theft charge

A bicycle theft suspect leapt from his balcony in Hilversum on Tuesday in order to escape the police. A mere theft charge turned into a more extensive rap sheet, as police discovered a cannabis farm in his home. Police received a report that a bicycle had been stolen on Saturday night. After inspecting security camera footage, the man's identity became known. The police went to the address where the man, a 48-year old man from Hilversum, lives. His balcony jump allowed him to escape, however. He landed on a car, damaging it. Officers entered the man's home to discover a cannabis farm, made up of 160 plants. This cannabis farm was dismantled, and an investigation into the man's residence has been launched.
