Record year for Keukenhof
The Keukenhof has attracted a record number of visitors this year. Around one million people came to see the flower park. A bigger turnout than last year's 849,000.
The nice weather, and the park's popularity with tourists from China, America, and East-Asia all helped, the Keukenhof reported on Sunday, the last day of the season.
This year's theme was Holland. Tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom also came to witness the spectacle, with quintessentially Dutch tulips in bloom.
Next year, the park will follow the theme of Van Gogh. In 2015, it will be 125 years since the painter died. De Keukenhof will work together with the Van Gogh Museum and the Kröller-Müller Museum. The park will be open from the 20th of March until the 17th of May, 2015.
