Another PVV pol quits over anti-Moroccan stance

Bart Brands announced that he will depart as Member of State for the PVV in South-Holland on Tuesday. For Brands, the anti-Moroccan speeches made by party leader Geert Wilders during election evening are not the sole catalyst for his departure. Brands says that he caught a conversation between Wilders and PVV-leader in The Hague, Léon de Jong after Wilders' speech. "If you now still get invited, I don't think you'll even be offered coffee", Wilders is reported to have said. According to Brand, this conversation is about the coalition discussions in The Hague. Brand says that the PVV is the 'controlled opposition' in that city. Brands believes that Wilders purposely made that speech about Moroccans to ensure that his party would not end up in the council for The Hague.
