Parties agree on 'the contours' of care

The cabinet, the coalition and the three opposition fractions agreed Monday on "the contours" of an extra contribution for care. Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed this at the end of a political top deliberation, but did not want to give any further details, BNR reports. PvdA-fraction leader Diederik Samsom said he is happy about the packet. He suggested that there would structurally be more money for care. Fraction leaders Arie Slob and Alexander Pechtold, of ChristenUnie and D66 respectively, both wanted to say that the contours have been rounded. Slob said he is in line with the agreements, but that the "puzzle is not yet complete." Pechtold says that the care law will be discussed in Parliament next week after this agreement.
