Alderman accused of vote rigging
Frans van Zeeland, alderman from Laarbeek, has been accused in two separate reports of rigging votes for the recent municipal council elections.
The reports were sent through to the police, and the municipality announced the information on Monday. A spokesperson will not identify the sources of the reports.
Van Zeeland was frontrunner for the local party Algemeen Belang Laarbeek before the elections. The party is now heading for council participation.
The municipality of Laarbeek, in Brabant, received a report on Friday about the vote rigging at the municipal council elections of last month. Various reports of vote rigging came from Roermond, Heusden, Soest, Twenterand, Bergen and Valkenburg.
