A man who is suspected of butchering two lawyers in Germany today was arrested in Nijmegen, just over the border in the Netherlands.

ANP says the two lawyers were ambushed during two separate incidents at thier offices in Dusseldorf. The first incident happened around midday in a law firm in the Adac complex in the city. The unknown assailant stormed in with a knife and started hacking into lawyer Ulrike Fröhlich. Fröhlich succumbed to her injuries shortly after. A male colleague who was with her suffered serious injuries. A man who tried to help was also stabbed, but his injuries were not life threatening. A similar drama unfolded not long afterward at a law firm in Erkath, a few kilometers from Dusseldorf. Here lawyer Guido Wacker (43) was killed. A colleague escaped with minor injuries. German police said early on that they suspected the killings were the work of the same person. The man who was arrested over the border at Nijmegen is said to been involved ina diveroce case that was handled by the lawyers he killed. It is not clear whether he was taken to a Dutch or German police station.
