Rutte, Putin meet in Sochi

Prime Minister Mark Rutte is scheduled to meet with the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi on Friday, announced the Government Information Service (RVD). Earlier Rutte had stated in the House he intended to talk with human rights organizations and with President Putin, during his visit with the Winter Olympics. Rutte submitted an official request to meet with the Russian president to discuss human rights. However, the Prime Minister is not confident he will be able to meet with human rights organizations, because 'you have to be careful not to get people in trouble over there,' said Rutte. There are 'no new developments,' said Rutte in Met het Oog Op Morgen, this past Friday, and we 'work hard' on making arrangements.
