Marco Borsato suffers stroke

Performer Marco Borsato suffered a stroke Wednesday late afternoon. Borsato was scheduled to perform during "Vrienden van Amstel Live!" in Ahoy, but fell ill before the concert. He was rushed to the hospital where it was determined in the early evening he had suffered a stroke. The 47-year-old Borsato is a successful singer, a member of the jury in "The voice of Holland", and "The Voice Kids." marco borsato
@ttfynl/ Twitter Borsato was scheduled to tour the Netherlands in March and April, and had shows scheduled for Curaçao and Vlaanderen in May. For now it's unclear how his condition will affect the schedule. It is of vital importance a stroke be treated as quickly as possible to avoid re-occurrence or even a cerebral infarct. A stroke is caused by a blood cloth temporarily blocking the flow to part of the brain. The singer is doing well, all things considered, and is following his doctor's recommend to take the necessary rest. On Borsato's website there's a message from "Mojo Concerts," asking to respect the privacy of family and friends and to provide the opportunity for them to deal with the situation. Marco Borsato is married to TV hostess Leontine Borsato and they have three children together.
