Miniature humans printed from 3D body scans in Amsterdam
Visitors of "Realisme," the art fair in Amsterdam, can have a realistic miniature made of themselves, using a body scan and a 3D-printer. The fair takes place from Thursday through Sunday.
The 3D-photobooth, one of many attractions of the fair, will be located in the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. The body scan makes a miniature image of the visitor, which is then printed by the 3D-printer, and can be taken home.

Flickr One floor will be dedicated exclusively to works of several artists, among whom Eric van Straaten, who already abundantly use the new technique. Art historian, Anne Berk will share her vision of 3D-printing and its possibilities for artists, together with several artists, in a symposium that is scheduled on Thursday. In addition to the new art form, this tenth edition of the fair will also accommodate a large number of galleries displaying contemporary, figurative art. Optionally, visitors can have their picture taken by Krijn van Noordwijk, a multi discipline artist/designer, who is now a famous photographer.
