The Hague mayor wants fireworks restrictions

If it were up to the Mayor of The Hague, Jozias van Aartsen, there would be restrictions on fireworks. The period during which fireworks may be sold, should be shorter. Fireworks should only be set off from 23:00 on New Year's Eve. The fines should go up. 'What was once beautiful, has degenerated,' said the VVD politician Thursday in his speech at the town hall. The government manages fireworks sales. Van Aartsen calls on municipalities to join hands to convince the cabinet. The mayor also pleads for a grand fireworks show above the "Binnenhof" on January 1, 2015
