Sweet 16 party escalates

A sweet-16 birthday party escalated in Kijkduin near The Hague, in the night of Saturday on Sunday. A café had to be closed and five people were arrested. The police received a report of youth partaking in the party, vandalizing properties outside the café. When they tried to enter the café to speak to the organizer the door was pushed shot before them. The officers reentered the café, after reinforcements had arrived in the form of police on horseback and dog handlers. They were attacked with bar stools, and glasses and other objects were thrown at them. The police cleared the bar and arrested five people, aged 15, 16, 17, 19 and 37, for insults, threats and resistance. During the arrests one of the police officers broke a hand. The case is under investigation.
