Dutch cable group Ziggo in takeover talks with Liberty

Dutch cable group Ziggo said it is in discussions with American cable company Liberty Global about a potential takeover. Ziggo - Photo: Bloomberg The Dutch company further said on Tuesday that no decision had yet been made, Reuters reports. Liberty already owns a 28.5% stake in Ziggo. In October, Ziggo rejected an offer from Liberty saying that the proposed price was too low. The company did not disclose how much Liberty offered. “Ziggo notes the recent market speculation and announces that it is currently in discussions with Liberty Global regarding a potential offer for the company by Liberty Global. There is no certainty that any agreement can be reached or that any offer will ultimately be made,” the company said in a statement.
