Shell: arctic oil from 2025

Shell expects to be able to produce oil in the Arctic, starting 2025, announced departing CEO, Peter Voser, in a farewell interview on the Shell website.Shell can sustainably produce oil off the coast of Alaska, according to Voser. The company may start up test drilling in the area again in 2014 or 2015. Polar_bear_with_cub

Greenpeace has been protesting against Shell's plans for a while. The environmental organization thinks oil productions in the Arctic will damage the environment. Shell on the other hand, insists the safety for the public and environment are paramount in their search for oil in the area.
