Confiscation companies egg fraude

The Dutch Food and Consumer Authority seized 800,000 euros from bank accounts of four companies suspected of fraud with eggs . The companies are located in Zevenaar, Sint Anthonis, Ooststellingwerf and Leudal. The prosecution argues three companies sold ordinary eggs as free-range eggs in 2009, 2010, and 2011. An egg hatchery sold more chickens to laying hen companies than accounted for on the invoices. That larger number of chickens had less space, disqualifying the eggs as free-range products, according to the Public Prosecution. brown eggs
