Eight police officers injured in Amsterdam
Prior to the match Ajax-Celtic in Amsterdam, eight officers in plainclothes were injured near the Damstraat. They were besieged by Ajax and Celtic fans.The hooligans threw bottles and beat with sticks. The police officers sustained bruises and lacerations. One of them lost consciousness. All of the officers had to be taken to a hospital.
As a response the police decided to firmly charge. The ME (mobiele eenheid) arrested 10 to 15 supporters of both Ajax and Celtic fans during those charges.
