Netherlands Cricket Coach Leaves

The Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) announced that it has decided not to extend Peter Drinnen’s contract as head coach. Drinnen became coach in December 2007 and led Dutch team to memorable successes over England at the ICC World Twenty20 2009 and Bangladesh in both Twenty20 International and One-Day International cricket, reports Cricket World. Netherlands Cricket Team / Wikipedia In the short term, assistant coach Anton Roux will replace Drinnen. Roux will oversee the team's bid to qualify for the ICC World Twenty20 2014 in the qualifying event in the United Arab Emirates in November. The board plans to begin the search for a permanent successor after the event. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the guys, a great bunch of blokes, and a squad that has changed over the years. I would like to thank the KNCB for all the support they have given me during this time,” Drinnen said.
