Burglary at Greenpeace Murmansk

A temporary office of Greenpeace in Murmansk, in northern Russia, was burglarized Thursday night. A cage the organization wanted to use for a protest on Friday was stolen, reports Greenpeace.Video footage, released by Greenpeace, show six people wearing forage caps. The environmental organization reported the burglary to the police, who confirmed on site the case was gone, and will investigate the theft. Greenpeace'_Arctic_Sunrise

Wikimedia commons Greenpeace protested worldwide on Friday against the imprisonment of thirty activists, who have been in detention for 30 days now in Murmansk. The organization wanted to exhibit cages during their protests in places such as Groningen and Murmansk to protest against the cages used for prisoners in Russia. The activists have requested to be released on bail. Thursday the Murmansk court decided the Groningen activist Mannes Ubels remains in custody. Friday, the Amsterdam campaign manager Faiza Oulahsen appeared in court, and was also denied bail. The group is accused of piracy, and risks a maximum sentence of 15 years.
