Burglar on the run drowned

A man died in Helmond last night, while running from the police. He drowned in his attempt to shake off law enforcement officers.The 46-year-old man broke into a business park at night with an accomplice. A security guard on site discovered the two and called the police. When the burglars saw the police car coming, they fled. They jumped into a nearby canal and tried to swim across. burglar,

Flickr Heeding police orders, one of the two, a 35-year-old male, came out of the water. At first it seemed like the other one kept swimming, but it soon became apparent he was unable to stay afloat, and lost consciousness. Officers got him out of the canal and tried to resuscitate him, but to no avail.
