New Technological Institution Amsterdam
The TU Delft and Wageningen University will set up a new technological institute in Amsterdam together. In early April, the city of Amsterdam wrote a competition among research institutions and universities at home and abroad for a new institute for applied technology. This afternoon, the jury, led by scientist Robbert Dijkgraaf, announced that Wageningen and Delft are the winners of this contest.
Alderman Carolien Gehrels hopes this competition will attract new businesses and new talent to the city in the areas of water, energy, waste, food and IT. Particularly in those areas the capital can still use a knowledge boost, because that creates economic growth and jobs.
