‘The Lunchbox’ Wins Big at Amsterdam Film Fest

Ritesh Batra’s The Lunchbox (Dabba) was named the best film of the 2013 edition at the World Cinema Amsterdam Film Festival. The Lunchbox star Irrfan Khan
Photo by www.bollywoodhungama.com/Wikimedia Commons The film, co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga, was honored the World Cinema Amsterdam Audience Award at the festival which took place on August 7 to August 18. It also received the Critics’ Week Viewers Choice Award at the most recent 66th Cannes International Film Festival. The film earned a total of 4,396 votes. International movies Gloria, Songs of Redemption, Le Passé and Het Geheim van Mariënburg also made it to the list of contenders. The Lunchbox stars Indian actors Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is scheduled to be released on December 12 in the Netherlands.
