No Milk Powder for Asians

Six people with Asian features complained to an anti-discrimination agency about limited selling of baby milk powder, according to NRC. nerissa's ring/flickr NRC Handelsblad obtained a supermarket memo that says: “To ensure that customers are not faced with shelves empty of milk powder, we will only sell a single pack to those we do not know. To regular customers from the village, we will sell two packs per person.” Supermarkets have dealt with shortages of infant milk for the past several months. The melamine issue in 2008 has forced Chinese consumers to buy large amounts of milk powder overseas, especially in the Netherlands. NRC Handelsblad reports several anti-discrimination headquarters have received complaints from the victims. According to the plaintiffs, some supermarkets were allegedly forbidding them to purchase baby milk powder.
