Mpondasi Health Centre Receives K2.2 Million Worth of Medical Equipments

The Mpondasi Health Centre in Mangochi has received K2.2 million worth of medical equipment donated by friends of Netherlands, according to Malawi News Agency and AllAfrica. Photograph by Lars Plougmann/flickr Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Reverend Macdonald Sembereka said the aid provided by the Dutch was a promise to the Mpondasi Health Centre in their 2012 visit. He also added the equipment donated in the maternity ward are very important in decreasing the rate of maternal and child mortality. Sembereka said the Mpondasi Health Centre was considered and picked for the project because of the heavy population in the region. Likewise, the centre is in need of change and improvement as it is very old. Reverend Sembereka asks the Mpondasi Health Centre’s management and workers to properly handle the equipment to assure the donors and benefactors.
