Fake ING E-mails
Criminals are using the cyber attack on the ING bank to send phishing mails. People are asked to follow a link in a fake e-mail to secure their personal banking details because they would be inadequately secured after the Internet fraud of last week.
People are asked for personal details like their name, address, phone number, bank account number and bank login details. Banks, however, would never ask for these kind of details via e-mail, phone or text.
The police warn people not to respond and to delete such messages. ING customers who did pass on their details should block their accounts as soon as possible.
According to RTL.nl, it remains unknown how many people received the phishing mails.
